We are delighted to announce that two of our exceptional physicians, Dr. Kayleen Jahangir and Dr. Matthew Sondag, have been honored as Mpls-St Paul Magazine’s 2025 Top Doctors Rising Stars. This prestigious recognition celebrates outstanding physicians in their first decade of practice who have been nominated by their peers for their remarkable contributions and achievements.
Dr. Kayleen Jahangir: Engineering Precision with Compassionate Care
Dr. Jahangir brings a unique perspective to her role as a diagnostic radiologist and fellowship-trained breast imager. With a foundation in biomedical engineering, she began her professional journey as a mechanical engineer before discovering her true calling in medicine. Her exceptional talent and dedication were recognized early in her career when she received the prestigious 2015 Radiological Society of North America Cum Laude Award.
As a highly valued member of Consulting Radiologists, Ltd.’s (CRL) Breast Imaging team at CRL Women’s Imaging in Edina and Allina Health Cancer Institute – Piper Breast Centers in Plymouth and Minneapolis, Dr. Jahangir approaches each case with both technical precision and profound empathy. Her philosophy is deeply personal: she treats each patient as she would her own family member.

This marks Dr. Jahangir’s third consecutive year being recognized as a Top Doctor Rising Star, highlighting her consistent excellence and growing influence in the field of breast imaging.
When not providing compassionate care to her patients, this Minnesota native enjoys cooking, reading, and spending quality time with her family.
Dr. Matthew Sondag: Leadership in Neuroradiology
Dr. Sondag has distinguished himself as an outstanding neuroradiologist within CRL’s Diagnostic Neuroradiology section. Specializing in advanced imaging modalities for the brain, spine, neck, and central and peripheral nervous system, he exemplifies the perfect balance of clinical expertise and visionary leadership.
Beyond his clinical practice, Dr. Sondag serves on CRL’s Board of Directors while simultaneously fulfilling dual roles as Medical Director and Vice-Chair of Radiology at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. His leadership philosophy centers on “using technology-driven medicine to problem solve and improve clinical outcomes for the patient.”
Through collaboration with specialists across various medical disciplines, Dr. Sondag consistently leverages innovative approaches to enhance patient care. Like Dr. Jahangir, this marks his third consecutive year being honored as a Top Doctor Rising Star.
When not interpreting complex neuroimaging, Dr. Sondag can be found conquering Minnesota’s cycling trails or training for his next long-distance run. During Minnesota’s winters, he pivots to exploring new worlds through books and music.
