Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)
Uterine fibroids are benign (not cancer) growths that develop from the muscle tissue of the uterus. The size, shape, and location of fibroids may vary. They may be present inside the uterus, on its outer surface, within the wall, or attach to it. Women can have one, or many varying sizes. A fibroid can remain small over the course of several years, or grow rapidly. In the U.S., 25% of women over the age of 35 will develop fibroids.
CRL’s Interventional Radiology section specialize in a minimally invasive procedure called a uterine fibroid embolization or UFE to help treat and reduce the symptoms of these fibroids.
Research shows that the UFE procedure will continue to provide symptom relief years beyond initial treatment. To learn more go to https://ask4ufe.com/
