Consulting Radiologists, Ltd. Welcomes Emergency & Teleradiologist Dr. Reed Smith
CRL proudly welcomes diagnostic radiologist Dr. Reed Smith to our emergency/teleradiology department. Originally from Mitchell, Nebraska, Dr. Smith began his medical journey at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Following medical school, he completed an internship and residency in family medicine at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He later pursued further specialization through fellowship training in nuclear medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. His pursuit culminated in a diagnostic radiology residency at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
Influenced by a high school sports injury, Dr. Smith found his calling in metabolic imaging, particularly advocating for the utility of PET imaging and exploring emerging radiopharmaceuticals.
A cornerstone of Dr. Smith’s professional fulfillment lies in addressing clinicians’ inquiries and actively participating in patient care.
Beyond his medical pursuits, Dr. Smith cherishes quality time with family and friends, indulging in outdoor adventures and exploring new destinations. Noteworthy personal achievements include his contributions to the well-being of his children and grandchildren, charitable endeavors, and his retirement from the Army.
Dr. Smith’s multifaceted interests extend to history, sci-fi, and murder mysteries. Rooted in a profound faith, he reflects on its role in unraveling the mysteries of the universe.
